DUTCH

Due to the dramatical increasing and unsolvable parking problems around and in the vicinity of Sports Halls De Mammoet in Gouda, the board of the foundation Stichting De Brievenbeurs has decided to discontinue the 26 years old fair De Brievenbeurs and will not organize any other fair in De Mammoet. So, the announced fair on April 10 + 11 2020 will not take place!

The organization shall start a completely new stamp fair on a different location with a new name: WINTERSTAMPS, In Veenendaal-De Klomp (52.041981, 5.567458).

It will be a fair in the luxury surrounding of the Van der Valk Hotel. There are numerous advantages here. First of all parking goes smooth, as the hotel has its own parking garage inside the building, so you can easily reach the banqueting level by elevator directly from the parking garage.

There is a luxury feel and look with first class furniture (including comfortable chairs), enough electricity plugs, free Wi-Fi, daylight and good artificial lightning. Excellent inside climate, staying overnight in-house, excellent bar and restaurant facilities.

In case you want to stay overnight, please let us know. When we have enough candidates we might get a better rate.

Excellent accessibility

The hotel (4½ years old) is situated close to the highway A12 (Den Haag – Arnhem – German border), which continues in Germany with A3. The hotel can be reached in around one hour from: Rotterdam, Den Haag, Amsterdam, Lelystad, Zwolle, Hengelo, Eindhoven, Venlo, Breda, Emmerich, Cleve, Wesel, Weeze.

Visitors can easily reach the hotel by train (intercity station Veenendaal-De Klomp) and walk for eight minutes or take the bus (Amersfoort-Rhenen, via railway stations Veenendaal and Veenendaal-De Klomp) and walk for two minutes.

A completely new concept will be offered for all stamp collectors and the fair will not be a specific postal history fair.

Visitors have to pay € 6 entrance fee, which includes free parking and unlimited free coffee, tea, refreshments.

For this first fair we have a special introduction price of only € 25 per table (140x80cm, minimum 2 tables (2m80) and maximum 6 tables (8m40)). On the top of it booth keepers have to buy an arrangement at € 25 pppd, which includes free parking, unlimited coffee, tea, refreshments, juices, sweets and a very good lunch.

WINTERSTAMPS will take place every year and always the same moment: the last Friday and following Saturday of February. For next year that will be February 28 and 29.

Opening hours are: Friday 10.00 – 18.00 hrs and Saturday 10.00 – 17.00 hrs.

On Saturday from 13.00 – 16.00 hrs there will be the 3rd Regional Meeting in the Netherlands of the Royal Philatelic Society London.

The address of the Van der Valk Hotel is: Bastion 73, 3905 NJ Veenendaal.

In the autumn you will receive more information as well as a booking form, but of course you can make your reservation already now. Due to the very attractive price we expect a good demand.

The theme of the fair is the Americas. The Dutch societies dealing with this theme (KSP, LACA, USCA and ZWP) will be present both days and on Saturday morning there will be lectures given by them.

Monthly Filatelie of February will have the same theme.

The website www.winterstamps.nl is operational but still needs to be decorated.
